Finding humor in difficult times

Just read that tonight’s Powerball is up to 275 rolls of Angel Soft toilet paper.

Many parents have discovered the teacher was not the problem!

Home School Day 1: wondering how I can get this kid transferred out of my class.

The truth is, it’s not so boring at home. But it’s interesting that one bag of rice has 7,456 grains and another has 7,489.

We are about 3 weeks away from knowing everyone’s true hair color.

I wonder if God got so mad about all of our fighting down here that He sent us to our rooms.

Can someone explain to me how a virus causing a cough resulted in a run on toilet paper? If COVID-19 caused diarrhea, would there be a run on cough syrup?

I’ve eaten 13 times and taken 4 naps and it’s still today.

We are now wearing masks for safety

Dear Patients:

I have decided that we will start wearing masks to keep our patients and ourselves safe. Many of you have decided to wait to come in until after the quarantine. While I respect your decision, I want to emphasize that getting an adjustment is the most powerful thing that you can do to keep your immune system strong. In addition to wearing masks, we are sanitizing all surfaces, door handles, arm chair rests, etc. and I am sanitizing my hands between each adjustment. We are also only allowing two people in the waiting room at a time. Please reconsider. I am staying open because I want to be there for you patients to keep you healthy.

P. S. By the way, we are both smiling behind the masks!

Khalsa Chiropractic staying open

Dear patients:

Many businesses are closing to reduce social contact and stop the spread of the virus.  We just closed the yoga center on the first floor of this building.  After careful consideration, I have decided to keep my office open for the time being.  I believe that getting an adjustment is the best way to strengthen your immune system and preventing you from getting the virus.  If you decide to cancel your appointment, please remember to call and let us know.

I am implementing some specific measures for the safety of my patients and Sat Mittar and myself:

  1. If you have any symptoms, please stay home. I will call you and do an adjustment over the phone.  I have been doing these adjustments on people who live far away for 30 years and it will help keep your immune system strong.
  1. No more than 2 people besides Sat Mittar will be in the waiting room at one time. If there are more than two people waiting, we will put the extra people in the 2nd adjusting room or the massage room or ask them to wait outside.
  1. Please bring a pillowcase or something to lay on the chiropractic table where you place your head and face. We have some gowns that we will use if you do not bring one.  The gowns are limited so please bring something with you if you can.  The gowns that we use will be washed every night.
  1. I will be using hand sanitizer between each adjustment.
  1. When I adjust our neck, you have the option of requesting that I do the adjustment with you face down. This is as effective as doing the adjustment face up.
  1. We will be sanitizing chiropractic tables, counters, doorknobs, etc. as often as possible.
  1. I have made the difficult decision to comb all of the food out of my beard!

These are strange times and if we stay calm and follow common sense measures, we will get through this together.  If I decide that we are closing the office I will let you know.

Corona Virus

Dear Patients:

I wanted to send out some information regarding the Corona Virus.  I recommend that you follow the basic guidelines as spelled out by the CDC.  Here is a link with their basic recommendations:  CDC recommendations

I don’t want to minimize the seriousness of this virus, but I also want to put it into perspective.  There is so much fear and anxiety everywhere I look and NOTHING weakens  your immune system like fear and anxiety.

There are certain groups that are at risk but the risk for healthy people is quite low.  I have copied some tables below of the percentages of fatalities in different age groups and comparison of people with with and without preexisting conditions.

If you want to do something preventative, I recommend that you take 2000 mgs of Vitamin C (1000 for children) and 5000 to 10,000 units of Vit D (2000 to 5000 for children) a day as a preventative measure.  I also recommend taking some herbs such as echinacea, golden seal, ashwaganda, or garlic.  If you start to feel any symptoms, immeidate start taking higher doses of Vitamin C (5,000 to 10,000) a day and more of the herbs.  High doses of Vitamin C works best in the early stages of an infection.

The other thing that will boost your immune system more than anything is to come in for an adjustment.  If the nerves that support your immune system are stressed and blocked, then it is much harder for your body to fight off an infection.  Getting an adjustment will make it easier for your body to fight off the infection or eliminate the infection if you are already sick.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call.

Khalsa Chiropractic staying in same location

Dear Patients:

Some of you may have heard that our building was sold and the new landlord has raised the rent.  The Awareness Center downstairs may be leaving, but we have signed a new lease and will be staying.  Call if you have any questions.  (626) 345-9750

On a lighter note, I was able to fulfill a life long desire to see the Rolling Stones in concert.  Here is picture of me dressed a little different from what you are used to.

Get an Adjustment after every dental appointment

In this video Pasadena CA chiropractor, Dr. Khalsa explains why it is so important to get an adjustment after you have seen the dentist.  This is true for everything from a teeth cleaning to extensive work.  The combination of stress, head position, jaw position and any anesthesia makes an adjustment a necessity.   For more information and health tips, go to his website at
